Foods and Drinks that Can Substitute the Milk

Milk is a beverage rich in calcium, protein and other essential nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. But not everyone can drink milk, because there are people who are allergic or do not like the taste. If so, there are some foods that can substitute it.

People who are allergic to milk usually lactose intolerance. Though milk offers a variety of essential nutrients needed by the body. But not to worry, because there are some foods that offer similar nutritional like milk.

Here are some foods and drinks that can be used as a substitute for milk:

1. Almond

2. Soy Milk

This drink will give you nutrition and at the same time adding a few calories.

3. Spinach


Spinach is one of the most amazing milk substitute. These vegetables are very high in calcium. One cup of boiled spinach a day is enough to get all the nutrients we need. Spinach is also a very rich source of vitamin A, C, E, and K, is also an excellent source of folic acid which is an important building substance of the cells in our body.

4. Fish


Fish such as tuna, mackerel, herring and salmon is a source of protein-rich foods. This is one easy way to replace the protein content in your body. Milk is a rich supplier of protein to our body. In the case of lactose intolerance, then the fish is a right replacement for you.
