It seems the benefits offered by green tea yet exhausted to continue to
known.
As one of the popular beverage in the world,
green tea has a lot to get the attention of scientists about the usefulness in
helping to prevent cardiovascular disease and fight obesity.
Latest, green tea is believed to enhance the
function of the brain associated with spatial learning and memory performance.
Antioxidant Epigallocatechin-3 gallate (EGCG)
contained in green tea is believed to improve brain function by accelerating
the regeneration of new brain cells and can even fix some general brain function.
"Our findings have shown that EGCG acts
directly to increase the production of neural progenitor cells, in tests using
mice," said Professor Bai Yun of Third Military Medical University,
Chongqing, China.
The findings, published in the Journal of Food
Science showed that rats fed EGCC more capable to solve the puzzle and
cognitive tasks.
"It helps us to understand EGCG and green
tea contains antioxidants, which proved able to fight degenerative diseases and
memory loss," said Bai.
